Public Involvement Meeting Notice
Improvements to CTH O at the South Fork Jump River Bridge
Planned improvements for CTH O in the Town of Catawba, Price County will be discussed at a public involvement meeting on March 20, 2024. The meeting will start at 6.30 PM at the Town of Ogema, Community Center, W5005 State Road 86, Ogema, WI 54459. The Community Center access is on the back side of the library off 1st Street. A presentation on the project will be included during a meeting that is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM.
The CTH O bridge project involves improvements to the roadway and bridge at the crossing of the South Fork Jump River approximately 7.5 miles east of US 8. The proposed improvement will include the removal of the existing three-span steel deck girder bridge and placement of a new three-span prestressed concrete girder bridge. The approximately 725-foot-long project will include replacement of the bridge on the existing alignment and approximately 555 feet of roadway approaches including the Merdian Road intersection.
No additional right-of-way is anticipated to be needed to build the project.
During construction of the project, the road will remain closed to through traffic. Construction is anticipated to take approximately 3 months during 2025. The earliest construction could begin is June 16 due to in-stream work restrictions. The exact timeframe will be determined by the contractor based on their availability.
A variety of exhibits and maps will be featured at the public involvement meeting, and representatives from Price County and Ayres Associates will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. The public is encouraged to attend to examine the proposed improvement and discuss any concerns they might have.
Persons requiring an interpreter, materials in alternate formats, or other accommodations to access this meeting are encouraged to contact the Price County Highway Department at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
