UPDATE: Phillips Chain, Sailor Creek Flowage & Prentice Flowage Winter Draw Down
September 26, 2022, Update: Soo Lake will also be subject to overwinter drawdown of 8-10 inches. Solberg Lake will be monitored as to needed drawdown level due to current low summer pool water levels.
Annual winter water level reduction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 17, 2022, on the Phillips Chain: Long Lake, Wilson Lake, Elk Lake, Duroy Lake, and Musser Lake. Weather pending, Long Lake, Wilson Creek Flowage, Elk Lake, Duroy Lake, Solberg Lake, and Musser Lake will be drawn down 8-10 inches by Thursday, October 20, 2022; and Sailor Creek Flowage and Prentice Flowage will be drawn down by 6 inches. These overwinter drawdowns are done to prevent shoreline degradation, control aquatic invasives, and provide water storage capacity to mitigate spring flooding. Levels will return to normal pool in the spring as the snow melts.
