REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Screened and/or Washed Sand
Proposals will be accepted until 4:00 PM on September 22, 2022.
The Price County Highway Department will accept sealed proposals for producing and furnishing 2,500 tons of screened and/or washed sand for the 2022-2023 winter maintenance season. Screened and/or washed sand must meet the requirements of Section 301 of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Standard Specifications Max 3/8” (9.5 MM) material, 100% pass.
Proposals shall be received at the Price County Highway Department, P.O. Box 169, 704 N Lake Ave., Phillips, WI 54555 before 4:00 PM on September 22, 2022. Delivery option shall be FOB to the Department's “Airport” salt shed on Old 13 Road in Phillips, WI 54555 unless otherwise indicated. Delivery charges, if any, shall be included in the price shown on the proposal form under the option for delivered material.
All material shall be weighed and ticketed on a certified scale. Payment will be based on scaled quantity.
All proposals must be submitted on the form provided, in a sealed envelope labeled as “Sand Proposal 2022”. All writing shall be done in ink. Included in the proposal shall be: the vendor name, material location, and the probable delivery and/or pick-up date. Timeliness is an essential consideration in determining the successful proposal.
The Price County Highway Department reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and accept the proposal deemed in the best interests of the Highway Department. Quantities requested constitute a base proposal. Price County reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities up to 15% after receipt of proposals.
The successful proposal(s) shall be required to provide the County with a performance guarantee in the amount of 5% of the total price to insure availability of the materials. The guarantee shall be in the form of certified funds. A bid bond will also be acceptable.
