[ARCHIVED] Jobes Dam Rehabilitation

Minor construction is scheduled to begin Monday, September 18, 2017 on Jobes Dam in Price County. Weather pending, the construction should be completed by October. A draw down of six feet is necessary to facilitate the repairs. This draw down will affect the Phillips Chain: Long Lake, Wilson Flowage, Elk Lake and Duroy Lake. The draw down is scheduled to begin September 5, 2017 with a level drop of 6 inches per day to prevent potential fish entrapment. Following construction, levels will then fill at a rate of 6 inches per day and normal pool will be reestablished mid-October, based on weather.

The Department of Natural Resources would like to remind any residents planning to perform shoreline repairs during the drawdown to be sure to acquire proper permitting prior to beginning any repairs. For permitting information please contact Doug Cassina, Water Management Specialist at 715-634-7463.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact Joe Neeb, Dams Keeper, at 715-492-4459 or contact the Highway Department’s main office at 715-339-3081.
