Area law enforcement officers from the Price County Sheriff's Office, Park Falls and Phillips Police Departments, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin State Patrol recently jointed together to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Wisconsin Special Olympics. Local law enforcement officers have supported the event since 1994 with an annual bike ride from Park Falls to the Taylor County line and a noon time parade for all the Special Kids. The event is held the first Thursday in June each year as a fundraising endeavor for Price County participants in the games. The Sheriff's Office accepts donations and sells Special Olympic T-shirts each year to help raise funds.
In the past five years, law enforcement officers, their family and the community have joined together to raise over $9,000 over the past 5 years to help Special Olympians reach their goal of participating in the games each year. Their participation depends on us.
