South Fork Flambeau River Camping

Flambeau River State Forest

The canoe campsites accessible from the South Fork are located down river from the convergence of the South and North Forks of the river. They are exclusively for persons traveling by watercraft and may be used only for one night of camping. At each of the 3 sites located between The Forks and Hervas Camp Landing, a cluster of sites has been developed to provide room for two or three groups.

All supplies must be transported by watercraft to the campsites and drive-up camping is not allowed. Each campsite has a table and fire ring. Pit toilets are located nearby. All sites are marked and easily seen from the river. There is no charge for use of these campsites. The canoe campsites are maintained by the Flambeau River State Forest staff, 715-332-5271.
