About the Trail
This scenic, wide twin track trail has hilly, rolling terrain and passes through a diverse forest of pine, aspen, birch, balsam fir, and northern hardwoods. On the northeast edge of loop C, a short single track connects to ATV / UTV trails. Loop D is very hilly with steep ascents and descents.
There are also ATV / UTV trails located south and east of the Wintergreen Trailhead parking lot. There is a shelter with a fireplace at the trailhead.
A National Forest parking pass is required. You can purchase a single day pass or an annual pass. The fee for the single day pass can be paid at the parking area. An annual sticker can be purchased at the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest office at 1170 S. 4th Avenue / Highway 13 in Park Falls, over the phone by calling the office at 715-762-2461, or at the following businesses:

The trail is open May 1 through March 14, conditions permitting. Call to confirm the spring opening date which is sometimes delayed.

Hiking & Biking
The trail surface is hard-packed dirt and grass. Loops B and C are excellent for biking. Loop A crosses a bog and is not recommended for biking.
This trail is groomed for classic and skate skiing.
The trail surface is hard-packed dirt and grass. Loops B and D are recommended for horseback riding. The other trail loops are generally too wet.
Snowshoeing and Fat Biking
Snowshoeing and fat biking is allowed parallel to the ski trail. Please stay off the groomed portion of the ski trail.
