The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is located in the northeast quarter of Price County. 

Trail Information & Description

There are three non-motorized trails for silent sport and equestrian use; Smith Rapids Saddle Trail,  Wintergreen Trail, and Round Lake TrailThe trails are open from May 1 through March 14, conditions permitting. Call to confirm the spring opening date which is sometimes delayed.

There are over 100 miles of logging roads and multi-use trails open to mountain biking in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The trails offer a generally hard packed trail surface with some loose rock, sand and water holes. ATV and UTV traffic is regularly encountered.

Trails are marked although the logging roads may not be. Special points of interest include the Smith Rapids Covered Bridge and the historic Round Lake Logging Dam. Trails are open to snowmobiles when snow covered.
