Yesterday House, Liberty School & Machine Shed

The buildings are located at N894 German Settlement Road in Spirit. From Hwy. 13 near Ogema, travel 10 miles east on Highway 86, then south 3 miles on Hwy. 102, and east 1 mile on YY to German Settlement Road.

About the Buildings

The Yesterday House is a log house that was built in 1885 and contains items used by early settlers. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Liberty School was built in 1919 and is currently furnished for a 1905 family of ordinary folks. "The Machine Shed" houses displays of early 1900's equipment and tools used for farming, logging, blacksmithing and carpentry.

These buildings are overseen by German Settlement History, Inc. Tours are available during events and at other times by appointment.
