Real Property Lister

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Real Property Lister are defined in Chapter 70.09 of the Wisconsin Statutes. These responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate ownership and description information for all parcels of real property in Price County, including:
    • Parcel Identification Numbers
    • Current ownership from the latest accurate document recorded with the Register of Deeds
    • Current mailing and property addresses
    • Accurate brief legal descriptions used for assessing and taxing property
    • Calculated land acreage, from the best available information on file, for assessment roll purposes
    • Assessment rolls
    • Special districts
    • Special assessments and charges
    • PFC, MFL
    • Property splits
    • Current property assessment valuations
    • Assessment classifications
    • Mill rates and fair market ratios
  • Preparing and printing property tax bills, assessment rolls, tax rolls and assessor work rolls and a variety of reports
  • Serve as a coordinator between the county, state and local municipalities for assessment and taxation purposes
  • Assist the public and other departments with location property information
  • Maintain the county parcel mapping system, using the most accurate information available that is in the County Surveyors Office and the Register of Deeds Office.
  • Maintain the Price County Plat Book.
