The on-road bike race is a 35-mile loop consisting of beautiful rolling hills along the Flambeau River. Race is open to anyone who wants to safely participate in a self-imposed challenge with friendly competition. Early bird deadline is mid-August. All pre-registered road race entrants receive a T-shirt. Water and fruit available before the race; free lunch after available to all racers. Special awards to the top three overall male & female finishers. Professional chip timing. The time trial is a 12-mile out and back ride with the majority of the terrain being flat and straight starting at the Chequamegon High School, 420 9th Street N. Start times will be assigned sequentially as registrations are received. Professional timing. Water and fruit available before the race. Special awards to the top overall male & female finishers. Quest cards/Food Stamps can be used for food purchases at the market for both foods and vegetable plants & seeds and “Market Dollars” are accepted by all vendors. They are available for purchase at the market and are a great idea for gift giving or incentives. WIC coupons and senior market coupons are also accepted by most of our vendors. The grounds open at 11am for tours of the nine historic buildings on site (some older than 100 years); annual meeting/election of officers will be held at 12:30pm (everyone is welcome to attend and comment) followed by an old-time country social with lunch available from 1-3pm; demonstrations of old-time crafts and general farm duties, such as clothes washing, butter churning & Victrola & roller piano. Homemade Finnish bread and Pulla (a cardamom braid bread) will be available for purchase. Craft vendors and demonstrators are welcome at no charge. The Knox Creek Heritage Center in Brantwood, WI, is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the pioneers that settled these great Northwood’s. Anyone is welcome to become a member and help maintain this unique historical site.

Everyone is invited to participate in this Wandering Wisconsin Roadside Art Experience offering an array of instant opportunities to create art in four different art mediums: Painting on a life-size mural, glazing and firing raku pottery, decorating the park garage with mosaics, and open-air painting of postcard-sized landscapes. All materials for each medium will be provided. Plus tour the 200+ statues made by retired lumberjack and self-taught artist, Fred Smith, and enjoy the works of art from the local quilt clubs hanging in the park pines. This event begins with music and sidewalk sales in downtown Park Falls from 10am-noon then enjoy the fall-decorated houses and beautiful fall colors along the river in the Fall 4 Run/Walk (reg. 11am / noon start) which ends at Flambeau View Greenhouse where the Colors of Fall Festival (noon-4pm) awaits you offering craft beer sampling, a craft fair, pumpkins, scarecrows, fall flowers, kids activities, hay rides, music, snacks & desserts. Have your family and friends join you at the greenhouse for the festival and then catch a ride with them back to the starting point. Activities are being planned for downtown as well including music & face painting (1-4pm) and a Chili Challenge (4-6pm free samples). The run/walk participants will also be the judges of the best fall-decorated house along the route. Everyone welcome! Fun for the Whole Family!
